Johnson has been on the 60-day DL since May 28, and hasn't pitched since April 30 against Boston due to right elbow inflammation that may include a small muscle tear. Before the setback, Johnson was 1-1 with a 6.52 earned-run average in 10 appearances. To make room on the roster, the O's transferred pitcher Jason Berken from the 15-day to the 60-day DL. Berken hasn't taken the mound since August 12, and is out with right shoulder inflammation. He was 3-3 with a 3.03 ERA in 41 games this year.
