Burnley would welcome European place

Soccer Betting Lines

05/07/2010 - Burnley, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Burnley manager Brian Laws has welcomed the surprise possibility of European football at Turf Moor next season.

The Clarets will be playing in the Championship next term following their relegation from the top-flight but could qualify for the Europa League via the Fair Play League.

Laws would have to rethink his preseason plans as Burnley's European campaign would begin in early July, but the Turf Moor boss would relish the chance of continental action.

"We are in a fairly strong position if Fulham win the final," he said, referring to the need for Fulham to overcome Atletico Madrid in next week's Europa League final to boost their chances of qualification.

"We are not banking on it but will certainly embrace it with open arms.

"Our preparations will be altered. If that is the case we will gladly change them."
