rebounds to lead the second-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes to a 93-59 triumph over
the 15th-seeded St. Francis (PA) Red Flash in the first round of the NCAA
Tournament.
Brittany Johnson scored 18 points for Ohio State (31-4), which is making a
program record eighth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. Samantha
Prahalis posted 14 points and 13 assists for the Buckeyes, and Shavelle Little
added 14 points as well.
Britney Hodges and Brittany Lilley both tallied 16 points in defeat for St.
Francis (17-15), which got 14 points from Samantha Leach.
Ohio State shot 59 percent from the floor in the first half and led 55-28 at
intermission.
St. Francis (PA), which shot 28.6 percent from the floor in the contest, were
unable to make a run in the second half.
The Buckeyes advance to the second round to take on either seventh-seeded
Mississippi State or 10th-seeded Middle Tennessee.
